At Home In Logan

I am writing from Tamara's mom's home in Logan.  Tamara was released from the hospital on Friday, much to our surprise, because Thursday was probably her hardest day.  She still had her fever (it did drop to around 100) and she was extremely nauseated.  Additionally, her pain spiked and they had to give her a shot to help get pain back under control.  Even though she had a hard day, she still continued to walk her laps (22) and Ryan and Katelyn came up and had dinner and spent the evening with us.
Then on Friday morning Dr. Reichman came in and said she could go home.  He said that for the next month she can sit for 10 minutes each hour and the rest of the time she should be lying down.  As time goes on, she can increase her sitting, provided it is in a good firm chair.  Also, no lifting more than 10 pounds.  He asked her to continue to walk as much as possible and he strongly encouraged her to strengthen her abdominal muscles and increase her overall body strength beginning in about three months.  The rest of her post-op care and recovery he outlined in a three page memo.  He was very encouraged by the level of her current strength and said that he feels that if she is strict in following his instructions she may be able to avoid any further back surgeries.
We got to Logan around 3:00 and began to settle in.  I got some boards to put under the cushions of the couch and got Tamara into bed.  She is glad to be here.
Today (Saturday) Tamara has continued her walking.  All-in-all, six times around the Lauralin Drive circle (done in three separate sessions) for a total of 1 mile.  Quite remarkable considering that her surgery was just five days ago.
Tamara told me earlier today that for about the first time in her life she acutely feels the strength coming from the prayers offered on her behalf.  We are humbled by the love we feel from all of you.  Thank you seems too simple, but it is truly heart felt. Thank you. Also, the power's of heaven have surrounded us. It has been a overwhelming experience.
Tender Mercies!!!!!

Tomorrow Tamara will be blogging with some very interesting  picture's I'm sure you do not want to miss?!?!

Ok, so now I know that you didn't get my original post! I'm such a dufus about technology! Anyway, I said I have to apologize. Mom finished the calendars and there is a mistake. I spelled Katelyn's name wrong for Mom and so she copied it wrong on the calendars! Tell her I'm so sorry and it is your dumb sister's fault. By the way, you may wish to come get the calendars before you leave for Connecticut so you can take them with you. I'm glad that Tamara is doing much better. Keep going! Lots of Love, Marilyn
