Day 3 of Brittney's Life: A Hopeless Romantic!

Brittney was a great journal keeper.  She kept everything.  Her scriptures are full of quotes, drawings and many notes that we would pass back and forth throughout Church.  Britt was a great list maker, with all differing sorts of colored pencils, highlighters and stickers. Her scriptures have more colors than the rainbow.
We lived in Bellevue, Washington for 8 years. It was our dream and we thought we would live and die there. The day we found out about Neil's transfer to the East Coast was devastating to our family. Britttney had a wonderful group of church and school friends. She was the ultimate "social butterfly." We have Brittney's Journal's from 1989-1997 of her life in Bellevue. We found an entry that I think you will remember, that Brittney!

"Well 12 days and counting until I turn 14! Can't wait! All the Stake Dances OH MAN! It's gonna be pretty cool. Well a lot has happened since July 18th. I worked for my Grandmas Drive-In and met a lot of nice guys. Jason and Shaun (cousins) have become my really good friends. While working there I made $950.00 and now I have $300 left. I am going to Washington D.C. with my class trip! The Mariners won the National [American League West] Championship!! I got Edgar Martinez, Dave Valle and Brian Holmes autograph! I also have a new best friend named Ruth and she is pretty cool, Now last, but not least, I like Trevor and Scott W. not really Scott - he's just so cute. I got really cool teachers, but I will tell you about them later, Bye:)

It is a wonderful gift to have Brittney's journals.  However, through the years I've learn much wisdom in my foolish ways: WARNING: If you choose to read your children's private thoughts, then you might want to prepare yourself, that sometimes teenagers don't always care for their parents. ha! It becomes more funny as they age, like old cheese.

This day was hard to Journal. This is the day Neil took her back down to Provo to go to school. Our last time to hug that tiny body. We Love You Brittney!
