This morning it looks like a Hallmark card as the sunlight glides over the new fallen snow. There was a time that I thought the sun would never shine again. It came up every morning, but I could not see it. All I could see and feel was a darkened cloud around me. All I could think of... our Brittney was gone. Yes, I knew that we would see her again. But, nothing helped the sting in my heart. My bed seemed like the best place for refuge. Then without fail the phone would ring and it would be my Mom. "Are you out of bed?" "Have you had a shower?" Have you washed your hair?" All three questions would come in rapid fire. No, No and No! I said. Then she would say, "I will wait until you get into the shower." I wanted to pull the covers high up over my head. But, my Mom would finally convince me to get out of bed. I would be sobbing through this whole process. I heard the quiet sobs of my Mom in the background. I knew that she was suffering just like we were. When I finally made it to the bathroom, my Mom would say good-bye and tell me that she would be calling back in one-half hour to see if I really did complete the task. Washing my hair was the hardest thing for me to do. To this day, I still do not know why. Maybe because it took to much effort. But, to know avail and phone would ring and it would be my Mom. The questions would come again, over and over and over. Everyday for one year the phone call came, and it would always be my Mom.
As I look out at this beautiful morning, I am so grateful that I can see the sun again. I am grateful for a Mom that has walked this life like Simeon, full of enduring faith, through all of her trials. She is a Legacy to our family and her wonderful handprints are all over my life. I am grateful!

If I weren't a mom, I wouldn't understand how you could just DO that every morning. But we would do anything for our kids, ANYTHING!
We got locked in my Closet, Matthew did it!! It was on a Sunday after church, and my mom finally came and let us out after she felt like she needed to! We were talking the whole time about how we were going to die in there! Ha ha ha....
In New Orleans... sorry, I forgot to mention that! Matthew and I had that big cubby closet that locked on the outside, and we kept all our toys in there. Some how he coaxed us in there, and locked the door.
How wonderful! This was very beautifully written!
I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas!!
