My Mom came for a visit to Connecticut. I love it when she is with us. This is the first time she has been here when it was just Neil and I without our kids.
First off we went to the huge Toy Fair in New York to see what's new for 2009 and for her gift shops in Bear Lake.
OH MY GOSH! it was every kid's dream................we had a blast. I had to humble myself and take to the wheelchair because the Javitis Center is huge and my new surgically repaired back could not handle all the walking. So, Neil wheeled me all around. We stayed with Sherlye and Kirk Wickman. They live in a penthouse in the city, 52 floors up. I knew we were way too high when the gargoyles from the Chrysler Building were staring back at me in the face. I am terrified of heights! Finally, the next morning my mom edged towards their large windows overlooking the city and took a quick peek down to see all the taxis. I finally went carefully over as well. Sherlye and Kirk tried to get me on the roof. ARE YOU JOKING? NO WAY! I will not even ride a ferris wheel.....EVER, for goodness sake!
