Finally...After 3+ Years!!!!!

Photobucket
Three years ago Neil put up a Eastern Bluebird House in our backyard. The Bluebirds are protected by the Department of Environmental Protection. There has been as steep decline in their population, because of their lack of nesting places with growing land and environmental changes.
Sooooo, people are trying to get the Bluebirds back by providing proper birdhouses so that they can be safe when they are nesting.
I told Neil last week to take the birdhouse down because nothing was happening.
WHAT THE HECK! YOUR KIDDING! This morning I looked out my window and there sitting on our birdhouse were Mommy and Daddy Bluebird! I was so excited, I couldn't even get my tele-a-photo lens on my camera. I had to take the pictures inside through the window so I wouldn't scare them away. They check out there surroundings and decide if it's a good nesting place. By noon-time they were gone. PLEASE RENT OUR HOUSE FOR FREE!
We will know in a few days if they come back to make their nest and they will have their nestlings.
Can you believe that the DEP asks you to keep a Journal about the "Nest Box" to provide information to help bring the Eastern Bluebirds back to Connecticut. I know you all can't believe this, but I love birds.
So, if they come back..........I will let you know! I will finally have little babies....sorta!

That is so cool! We had a birdhouse in our backyard in CT and one time some bird (swallow?) made a nest in it and my dad and Stephen got rid of the nest because they said that that bird would kill the bluebirds. hmmm. We never actually had bluebirds make it their home.I hope your birds come back to stay!

(and if none of this makes logical sense I plead lack of sleep.

Sorry, sorry! I've been a horrible blogger! It's so warm, it's hard to stay inside! Plus I picked up more work and have been super busy, Tanner's had spring break and has actually been home and we've been having a blast, and then his brother's family came and stayed with us. And it's March Madness! We've been busy!! Hopefully it'll slow down a bit, but it's the end of the semester so likely not for another month. I'll try to be better!

How wonderful! That's so great that you are doing that. Birds are the bomb.com

And I love your banner, your garden looks so lovely.

Are you coming out to Utah this summer and for how long? And I want to come visit. I think I would do very well on the East coast. I keep telling Dan we need to visit NYC and CT.

What a pretty bluebird! Did they come back? I hope so! I love birds too, today I watched a little bird gather up materials to build a nest. They are cute! I hope their population recovers, and that's awesome that you are trying to help! :)

It was wonderful seeing your garden as I am looking out my window watching it snow. Good luck with your birds. My mom and dad have bird feeders out their window and mom loves watching the birds every day. Oh, I got a new puppy yesterday. It is another toy poodle. I think her and Minnie will be good buddies.

I've only seen a bluebird once and that was a LONG time ago. What nice people you are to provide a home for them. One day I hope you will be able to get pictures of the little birdies. :)
