For the past seven years Neil and I have donated to several dear friends that are fighting the battle of cancer or for those that have lost their mortal battle. It's amazing to us as we walk the South Windsor High track, everyone is walking for a Grandmother, Grandfather, Mother, Father, Sister, Brother, Daughter, Son, Aunt, Uncle or a dear friend. So many loved ones walk all through the night until the next morning. Tents, chairs, sleeping bags and food spread from one corner to the other. Teams take turns walking on behalf of their loved ones and donate that money to the American Cancer Society. It is a beautiful site at 9:00p.m. when the Light of Celebration begins. The track is lit up with hundreds and hundreds of luminary bags and torches to light the way for the walkers. Names In Honor of.... for those that are in remission or continue in their fight, and the names In Memory of.....that have passed on, are projected up onto a huge screen. Special music plays as the names continue to scroll across. You can hear the quiet sobs as their loved ones name is shown. Then that team gets up and begins to walk. It is overwhelming and so moving. We feel grateful to be able to participate in such a beautiful gift. Here are some of the pictures of that night and some of our dear friends we donated in their behalf. WE LOVE YOU ALL!

Just seeing the pictures makes me want to cry. Those kids are soooooo young. I think it's great that you donate to such a great cause!
Merciful Heavens - you've known alot of young ones that have suffered and passed away through cancer. That's so wonderful of you and Neil to do that.
Thank you Tamara and Neil! Your generous, kind act to honor and remember Sarah as well as donate to such an important cause means a great deal to Brian and I. We are so thankful for caring friends like you. I so was touched that you would also include the photograph of our little girl. What a beautiful sight that must have been with all the illuminated bags. I only wish I could have been there to participate. Thank you for remembering our family. With much love, Brian & Christine
